Connect your AI app
Setup: about two minutes. Add the connector and sign in with your email. You can browse every source straight away.
Data: after approval. Apply once. We approve each alpha user by hand, usually within 24 hours, and email you.

Which AI app do you use?
Every plan, including Free. Add it on claude.ai or the desktop app, and it shows in the phone app too.
A paid plan (Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or Edu), set up in a web browser at chatgpt.com with Developer mode on.
Poke, Hark, Perplexity, Grok and Manus. Hark uses an access key from your account page.
Easiest: copy the setup prompt and paste it into a new chat in your AI app. It knows which app it is, walks you through the steps and never asks for a password or a key.
Paste into any AI app to set up Hawalius:
+4Copy setup promptOr connect it yourself
- Copy the connector address
The same for everyone: you sign in as yourself, so you only ever get what your own account allows.
https://hawalius.com /mcp - Add it to your AI app as a custom connector: Claude (every plan, including Free) · ChatGPT (paid plan, Developer mode, in a web browser) · Poke, Hark, Perplexity, Grok and Manus.
- Sign in, then apply. Adding the connector asks you to sign in with your email: we send you a code, there's no password. After that you can browse every source straight away. To get data, apply once: ask your AI app to apply for you, or use the form on the website. We approve each application by hand, usually within 24 hours, and email you when you're in.
Using a work account? If you use Claude or ChatGPT through an organisation licence, you may need to speak to your admin first. On Claude Team or Enterprise an owner adds the connector (see below). On ChatGPT Business, Enterprise or Edu a workspace admin may have to allow Developer mode.
Steps checked 21 October 2026 against Anthropic's and OpenAI's help pages. Both apps rename their menus from time to time, so the labels may have moved a little.
Claude
Works on Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans. Free allows one custom connector. Add it on claude.ai or in the Claude desktop app, and it then shows in the Claude phone app too, on the same account.
On Free, Pro or Max
- Open claude.ai (or the desktop app) and go to Customize → Connectors. Older versions have it under Settings → Connectors.
- Press + Add.
- Choose Add custom connector.
- Name it Hawalius and paste your connector address as the server URL. Press Continue.
- Claude finds the sign-in settings by itself. Leave Authentication and OAuth client as they are, and add no request headers. Press Continue.
- Press Add.
- If Claude doesn't ask you to sign in straight away, press Connect next to Hawalius. Our sign-in page opens (signing in). Sign in, and you're sent back to Claude, connected.
On Team or Enterprise
- An owner adds it once for the whole organisation: Organization settings → Connectors → Add → Custom → Web, with the name and the address, then Continue and Add, leaving the sign-in settings as they are. Only owners can do this (and, on Enterprise, roles allowed to manage connectors).
- Then each person goes to Customize → Connectors, finds Hawalius (marked Custom), presses Connect and signs in. Everyone signs in as themselves, and each person needs their own approved Hawalius account.
Using it: in a chat, press + → Connectors and check Hawalius is switched on. Then just ask, for example "I'm buying a house. What sold nearby, is it at risk of flooding, and how far is the nearest good school?"
Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http hawalius https://hawalius.com/mcp, then /mcp to
sign in.
ChatGPT
Before you start
- A paid plan: Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or Edu. The Free plan can't add custom connectors.
- A web browser: set it up at chatgpt.com. The phone app can't add a connector, and the desktop app may not show the setting.
- Developer mode: ChatGPT calls a connector you add yourself a "custom app" and keeps it behind Developer mode. On Business, Enterprise and Edu, an admin of your ChatGPT workspace may have to allow it first. If the switch isn't there, ask them.
- Changes: on some plans ChatGPT can read through a custom connector but can't make changes. That's fine for data, which is all read-only. If sending feedback or accepting the terms from the chat doesn't work, use the Explore use cases page and your account page instead. API keys are only ever added on the account page.
Steps
- On chatgpt.com, click your name (bottom left) → Settings → Apps. On some accounts it's called Plugins, Apps & Connectors or Connectors.
- Open Advanced settings and switch on Developer mode. If it isn't there, look under Settings → Security and login. If you can already see Create app or Create MCP App, it's on.
- Press Create app (or Add → Create MCP App, or + → Add custom MCP server).
- Name it Hawalius, and add a short description if you like.
- Paste your connector address as the MCP Server URL.
- Set Authentication to OAuth, and leave the client ID and secret empty.
- Tick I understand and want to continue.
- Press Create.
- Our sign-in page opens (signing in). Sign in, and you're sent back to ChatGPT, connected.
Using it: in a new chat, press + → More → Developer mode and choose Hawalius, or start your question with "Using Hawalius, …".
On a phone
- Open chatgpt.com in your phone's web browser (Safari or Chrome), not in the ChatGPT app, and sign in.
- If you can't find Settings → Apps, switch to the desktop site. In Safari: the aA button → Request Desktop Website. In Chrome: ⋮ → Desktop site.
- Follow steps 1 to 9 above.
- Once it's added, Hawalius may also show in the ChatGPT app on the same account. If the app won't use it, carry on in the browser.
Other AI apps
Open the one you use. These apps rename their menus often, so the labels may have moved a little. Most sign in the same way as Claude (signing in). Hark can't, so it uses an access key from your account page instead.
Poke texting assistant (iMessage, SMS)
- Sign in at poke.com and open Integrations.
- Add a new MCP integration. Name it Hawalius and paste your connector address as the server URL. Leave the API key empty.
- Sign in when asked (signing in).
- Text Poke, for example "Use Hawalius to check flood risk for SW1A 1AA".
Answers by text message are short, so ask Poke for the licence and source links if it leaves them out.
Hark uses an access key
- On your account page, under Access keys, type Hark and press Make a key. Copy the key: it's only shown once.
- In Hark, ask it to add a custom MCP server and give it your connector address.
- When Hark asks for an API key or bearer token, paste the key into its secure form only.
Never paste a key into a chat message, an email or a screenshot. If you think it's been seen, revoke it on your account page and make a new one.
Perplexity Pro or Max, on the web or desktop app
- On perplexity.ai, go to Settings → Connectors.
- Add a custom connector (it may say Custom remote connector or MCP). Name it Hawalius and paste your connector address.
- Choose OAuth (sign in) as the authentication, then sign in (signing in).
If it only offers an API key, use an access key from your account page, as for Hark.
Grok paid plans, at grok.com
- Go to grok.com → Connectors → New connector → Custom.
- Name it Hawalius and paste your connector address.
- Sign in when asked (signing in).
Manus adds MCP servers by address
- In Manus, open Settings → Connectors (or Integrations) and choose Add MCP by URL.
- Name it Hawalius and paste your connector address.
- Sign in when asked. If it asks for an API key instead, use an access key from your account page.
Using another app? Choose it above
In a new chat, ask: "What can Hawalius do for a house I'm thinking of buying?" If your AI app answers using Hawalius, you're connected. Until you're approved it can still show you every source.
Signing in to Hawalius
The first time you connect (and again whenever your sign-in runs out or you log out), your AI app opens our sign-in page:
- Enter the email address you applied with and press Continue.
- We email you a code. Type it in. If you're asked whether to allow Claude or ChatGPT to use your account, press Allow.
- You're sent back to your AI app. It only ever sees what your own account can see.
New here? Signing in is also how you apply: once you're in, your AI app or the website asks a few questions. You can browse while you wait for approval, and we email you when you're approved.
If it doesn't work
- "Your application is waiting for approval"
- That's normal until we've looked at it, usually within 24 hours. You can browse every source meanwhile. If you haven't applied yet, ask your AI app to apply for you, or use the apply page. If you applied with a different address, sign in with that one.
- "Please accept the current terms of use"
- Open your account page and tick the boxes. The terms change now and then, and everyone accepts the new version once.
- "Sign in first"
- Your sign-in has run out. Press Connect on the connector again and sign in.
- "Access has been suspended"
- Email [email protected].
- No Developer mode in ChatGPT
- You're on the Free plan, you're in the phone app, or your workspace admin hasn't allowed it.
- Your app asks for an API key or token, not a sign-in
- Make an access key on your account page and paste it into the app's secure key box only.
- Your organisation doesn't let you add a connector
- On Claude Team or Enterprise, ask an owner to add it in Organization settings → Connectors. On ChatGPT Business, Enterprise or Edu, ask your workspace admin to allow Developer mode.
- The AI answers without using Hawalius
- Check Hawalius is switched on for that chat, or say "using Hawalius" in your question.
- It used to work and has stopped
- Logging out, or a sign-in that has run out, disconnects your AI app. Press Connect on the connector again and sign in.
Disconnecting: remove or disconnect Hawalius in your AI app's connector settings. Closing your account is on your account page.
